On Nov. 1, Prime Distributing begins its 36th year of business. This brings us to another moment of gratitude for all the kind folks we have worked with through the years. Prime continues to be a niche distributor, providing personalized service for all those who call in. We continue to be committed to our unique brand of southern comfort, so that the person on the phone hears the smile from Prime’s side. Thanks to all of you for new ideas and for the inspiration we gain from you… from who you are and what you are.

LEAD FREE CHALLENGES
Customers who are changing to LF solder process find their tips don’t last as long as they did with tin-lead process. Tips today are oxidizing while they are being used.
With lead free, there is a longer dwell time. A longer dwell time means there is more exposure to the air, so your tips will oxidize more quickly. To get the best use out of your solder tips, prevent oxidation. When you add solder to the tip, you protect it from the air. So, keep your solder tips bright and shiny.

NEW PRODUCT RELEASES at PRIME
VACUUM PICK-UP, Single and Dual Port. Here’s an alternative to tweezers for small components. Virtual Industries just announced their new single and dual port units for bench work. The air flow is much stronger than the old SMD-VAC-GP. Also, there is a new non-ESD inexpensive Bench Vac that plugs into a regular 110V outlet.
